Stained glass design for a 17th century door

This stained glass design was created for a door in a 17th century house on the Keizersgracht canal in Amsterdam.
The occasion was a wedding.

The two halfs of the door come together to form a circle. The small spheres on each side of the door represent the children from both partners that come together to form a new family.

The circle or world intersects with a spiral that can be read from the top as well as from the bottom. Dynamically representing the ups and downs in life.
This is also reflected in the cool to warmer tones in the colour scheme. These colours have a connection to other colours in the room. Like wood on the floor and blue in the cabinets.

The design interacts with the existing grid in the door.
